Pastor Mike Thompson

pastor mike front page 2After a decade of business management, Mike followed God’s calling to vocational ministry. Mike began by organizing mission trips for hundreds of individuals each year. Then Mike worked as a paid youth intern at a church of 1000 in Saint Paul. Mike’s next ministry opportunity came when he served on staff first with missions, prayer and small group ministries and later as pastor of administration at a BGC church of 3200 individuals in Saint Paul.

Led by the Spirit of God, Mike planted a church in Duluth, started two Christian counseling centers, and began working with a medium sized Evangelical Free Church in Superior. At that point, God clearly called Mike to Northern Wisconsin. Mike has worked to revitalize town and country churches, teaching them to be visionary, ministering to the entire family of God, connecting with one another through innovative small groups and reaching out to members of the community.

Mike left the Evangelical Free Church for a few years to serve as Executive Pastor in a non-denominational church in Chippewa Falls. Afterward God called Mike to serve as Senior Pastor of Faith Free. Mike and his family have served at Faith Free since the fall of 2011.

Mike and his wife Shelly will have been married since 1998. They have two children: Natalie and Schneider. Schneider was adopted from Haiti after one of Shelly’s mission trips. Natalie was adopted into Mike and Shelly’s family shortly after her birth.
